6 Benefits of Hibiscus Powder for Skin & Hair

Who would have thought that hibiscus powder would have so many hidden beauty benefits and uses! This tropical plant is one of our favourite ingredients to use for keeping both our skin and hair healthy. Made using Hibiscus Roselle Petals (Hibiscus sabdariffa), our hibiscus powder has a deep red color. Hibiscus sabdariffa, or Roselle, is a shrub belonging to the Malvaceae family. Also known as red sorrel, this particular variety of hibiscus is used widely for its health and skincare benefits. With a reputation for anti-aging properties, the roselle plant is quite popular in the beauty and skincare world. It has been used to make a face/body scrubs, facial steams, clay masks, etc

Hibiscus Powder Benefits for Skin

  • The phenolic compounds in hibiscus roselle help scavenge free radicals in your skin to reduce oxidative stress caused by environmental damage.
  • Hibiscus has a sort of magical reputation in skin care because it is a natural source of alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs). This makes hibiscus naturally exfoliate your skin and reduce hyperpigmentation and comedones. This also helps to reduce blackheads & improve the texture of the skin.
  • The antioxidants present in hibiscus powder also help reduce inflammation on your skin caused by acne or other skin problems.

Hibiscus Powder Benefits for Hair

  • Hibiscus Sabdariffa is rich in amino acids and various bioactive compounds that help nourish your hair follicles to stimulate hair growth.
  • These nutrients also help prevent premature hair greying and can be used as a natural dye with henna powder.
  • Hibiscus powder acts as a mild scalp scrub and since it has antimicrobial properties, it can help reduce dandruff and itchiness from your scalp.

What is Unique About Our Hibiscus Powder?

Blend It Raw Apothecary's Hibiscus Powder is actually a different type of hibiscus than the one you probably see in social media emoji as well as in your garden/nearby park. Made from Hibiscus Roselle (also sabdariffa), this variety of hibiscus has a deep red hue, contains natural AHAs, exfoliates skin and works on pigmentation and uneven skin texture. Powdering this variety of hibiscus is a real labour of love. The petals are hard which needs multiple times powdering & then sieving all while ensuring that we constantly wear our masks so that we don’t inhale it. However, these efforts ensure that you just receive unadultered powdered hibiscus sabdariffa petals used to make a face/body scrubs, facial steams, clay masks, etc.

How to Use Hibiscus Powder for Your Skin and Hair Care

You can easily incorporate hibiscus powder in all your face masks, cleansers, scrubs or hair pack recipes. Please note: Hibiscus Roselle can be a strong ingredient for sensitive skin people. Wanted to know if your hibiscus powder and organic hibiscus petals both are same in property… Means if we order petals from you and make powder at home

garima.js06

Hello. Our hibiscus powder is made from the same petals that we sell. Making hibiscus powder at home is difficult as it is a hard flower and might end up damaging your grinder but if you are sure that can make powder at home then go for the petals.
